Also known as collagen induction therapy, this is an innovative treatment designed to treat fine lines and wrinkles, scarring (acne, surgical and burn scars), stretch marks, sun damage and pigmentation.

A device called a Dermapen is used to create tiny needle pricks on the top layers of the skin. These tiny pricks create ‘minor injury’ to the skin allowing us to take advantage of the bodies natural healing response, which in turn gets to work in stimulating and produce extra collagen and proteins.

This newly generated collagen and skin tissue results in smoother and firmer skin,  as well as improving overall skin tone.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure and requires little to no down time. 

We recommend a course of 3-6 sessions depending on your skin concerns.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Immediately following the treatment you will look red, resembling moderate sunburn. The skin will feel warm and slightly tight. This will normally reduce within the same day, with only slight redness the following day.

WHAT ARE THE POST CARE PROCEDURES?

• Use only tepid water to cleanse the face for the next 48 hours and pat dry using a clean towel
• It is recommended make-up is not applied for at least 12 hours
• A high factor SPF must be used following the treatment
• Do not touch the area immediately after treatment
• It is not recommended that you participate in high impact exercise for 12 hours following the treatment

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE THE RESULTS?

This will depend on your cell renewal process, as this slows down as we age. In general it can take up to 8 weeks to see any results, however the regeneration process will continue over the following months giving a gradual enhancement.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

This will be dependent on a number of factors including age, area being treated, skin condition and damage. In most cases it is usually a course of either 3 or 6 treatments, generally spaced between 4 and 8 weeks apart. It is recommended a one-off treatment is performed every 6 months to maintain the effects.
